Q: Almost immediately after starting kindergarten my son started screaming and not listening to me. When he doesn't want to do something he screams NO several times (like leave a friends house, I actually had to pick him up and carry him kicking and screaming to the car). If I try to put him on a time out he won't stay, he screams the whole time. If i make him stay and he's still screaming at me the whole time doesn't that defeat the purpose...? Today I since I could not get him to go on a I ended up putting him into his room... he started to throw his toys, kick the walls, and keeps trying to walk out anyway. It's getting very frustrating. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do to make him listen. Normally he is easy going and friendly...this is totally brand new behavior and it's driving me nuts.
A: whenever he does it, just ignore him. drove me nuts when i was his age, but it made me chill out.
