Q: My 5 year old told me last night that a teacher said this to him. He then told me the same thing this morning. I just find that to be an incredibly odd statement for a teacher to say to a child- do you agree? Would you call the school and ask about this? I want to but I'm not sure if I should. What do you think? I'm also a single parent and my son has no father figure in his life at all- which is part of why this bothers me so much.
A: I would most certainly ask about this. I think I would ask the teacher first and if he/she doesn't give an appropriate explanation, I would go to the principal. I can't think of any reason that a kindergarten teacher would need to talk to their students about this.
