Q: I never had a check up. My midwife checked the baby at 6 weeks and asked if my bleeding had stopped but that was it? is that all there is to a six week check up? also how long did you bleed after bubs. I did for 6 weeks but I just read an answer where someone said they bleed for 2 to 3 weeks. Is it normal that mine went for so long? I didnt have any stitches so maybe they only check people with stitches? what is the pap for? Im wandering if I was dsuppost to go to the doc for some kind of check up but no one ever told me. oops
A: A six week check up usually includes vitals, pap smear and assessment for post partum depression. After having a baby your period normally last for about 2 weeks although it can last longer if you are having stress or doing to much and not giving yourself enough time to rest.
