Q: I was just wondering why some people are against it. I am breastfeeding my 6 week old and I don't see anything wrong w/it. But my husband really doesn't like me breastfeeding and there are some people in my family that doesn't approve of it. I've also read online and saw things on tv where people are totally against it. I got angry b/c online there was this man saying that it should be BANNED b/c he thinks that women get sexual pleasure from it. also saying that it isn't natural...hello?!?! It is natural Lol But I guess my question is what is the problem? and why don't people accept or approve of it. I keep asking everyone this and all they say is "It just bothers me, I just dont' like it, it is weird, creepy etc.." I know, I absolutely love breastfeeding my daughter. I feel like I am giving her the best and giving her something that only I can give. It is good to finally hear some people say that they approve and encourage it. Can you believe that my birthing class teacher actually admitted she was against it..?!? I don't breastfeed in public b/c people will STARE and talk very rudely about it. So I just pump and feed her w/a bottle. My mom is against doing it in public. But I have been known (when she was just a lil hungry) to feed her in public, when ppl talk I just smile. I do cover up and try to turn away from the crowd but it seems like they just can't get enough of it and think they have to walk towards me to see..immature. I think that it is pretty funny myself
A: It is soooo sad and they only disagree because they are dudes, or they are women who probably gave up on it... if they even had a baby. I absolutely LOVE breastfeeding and today I was dreading the day I would have to stop... I don't think I could handle getting up to make a bottle everytime my son was hungry! When I am in malls I usually just go to the dressing rooms if I have to feed my son because that way I don't have to get any weird looks and we can relax a little bit. Some people are just crazy and have no clue about reality! Stick with it, and your husband should be really supportive of you since you are giving his child the very best thing! I guess if he doesn't like it then don't worry about it, he would change his mind if he had to make a bottle every couple of hours!
