Q: i have asked before but am now gettin very stressed!i have just recieved confirmation letter from child benefit and was paid two weeks ago a backdated payment and yesterday another backdated payment. When i contact tax credits they say they are sending me a form out to fill in as they need more info, they have been saying this since last saturday,they cant tell me when it will be sent either,they received my forms two weeks ago and cant tell me wen i will receive the letter asking for my babys birth certificate or t66. Could this have something to do with child benefit not having my bank details until a couple of days ago and therefore it hasnt shown up on their system. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this and how i can get them to push this through, my baby was born in June and i rang for the forms on the 10th july and they received them back two weeks ago,y is this taking so long???how long does child beneift have to be coming through before I get payment?xxxxx any info at all that you have on them would be great thanks and can you share your experiences... I have been on the fone to them every day and they say they cant tell me anything xx
A: you have been unfortunate here - basically Tax Credits have processed your claim before child benefit had, this is unusual and causes this sort of problem. In order to get your TC paid you need to be in receipt of Child Benefit, if you are not they get very confused. They will issue you another T66CTC form, which you should send with the birth certificate and a covering letter detailing that this has previously been provided and asking them to ensure that it is backdated to the birth of your baby. If you have any further difficulties go to your local CAB who will assist you free of charge
