Am i a good candidate for vbac? -vaginal birth after c-section.?

Q: I know i should discuss with my ob and i will. Im not pregnant yet. I just want an opinion.I just had emergency c-section 4wks ago due sudden increase in baby heart beat. Im healing well from c-section but i really want to be pregnant again after 15wths with vbac. Natural birth is the best if there is no complication,i know. Im 27,plan pregnant 15mths after,my c-section is horizontal(bikini line),im healthy. Am i a good candidate for vbac? Thanx.

A: The important factor to consider is how the incision is aligned in your uterus, not in your abdomen. You cannot tell by looking at your belly; you'll have to check with your doctor. Since most women want to go VBAC nowadays it probably wouldn't be an issue. VBAC will depend on why you needed a ceasarian last time - was there a reason for the sudden increase in baby's heartbeat that could occur again? Obviously if the same condition reoccurred then you may end up heading for a ceasarian again. You have some typos in your original question, I assume you mean to fall pregnant when your baby is 15 months old, not have your children 15 months apart? The first option is a good one :) Give your body time to heal. And, since you know you want to get pregnant, make sure you look after your body the best you can in the interim, to maximise the chances that you won't have any complications. Good luck.
